journal 7

The most famous form of remediation is turning books into movies. A recent movie that came out, “Friday Night Lights” is from the book titled Friday Night Lights: a Town, a Team, a Dream. In the book, there is a lot more information that what is shown in the movie. That is not surprising mainly because the movie can only be so long so they needed to cut out a lot of the details from the book. The book alternates chapters by focusing on the football team for a chapter, then focusing on the happenings in the town and the type of culture that is experience in this small Texas town. In the movie, it mainly focuses on the football team and the problems that the players face off the field. Also, in the book, the chapters that are not about the football team are not important to the flow of the main storyline which is why the movie decided not to focus on those certain chapters.
