Agreeing with the comment below, I think that the most well known kind of remediation is with books being turned into movies. Another example of this is the Lord of the Rings series. I think these were turned into a movie because the books were so popular that the makers knew the movies would be also and would probably make a lot of money too. Also the books are really long and descriptive and have a great plot which gives a director a lot to work with. The movies bring the books, characters and the scenery to life and for the majority of the time, I think directors do a good job with remediating (ex: Harry Potter).
