A contemporary example of remediation is the Twilight saga. I have read both Twilight, New Moon and eclipse, and have seen all three movies. I have to admit that I enjoy reading the books a lot more than watching the movies. When I read the books, you understand more as to way Bella wants to be with Edward, where in the movies Edward comes off as some creepy pale guy who talks weird. The first movie rushes through the entire process of Bella falling for Edward and visa versa, and therefore making the movie unintentionally comical. I think the reason for this is because the book explains so much detail and small plot that a movie cannot capture all of information accurately enough for the audience. A lot of my friend that did not read Twilight enjoyed the movie much more than those that did read the book, I think that this is because they did not have an expectation of what the relationship is like between Edward and Bella.
