ENG 111-BM: Journal 8

ENG 111-BM: Journal 8: "Journal 8: Post a really ugly website, then a really attractive website. Tell me why they do and don’t work visually and rhetorically."
http://www.facebook.com/ Facebook is a social network that was launched in February 2004. Google says that Facebook is the most popular website in the world-I agree with this statement because Facebook is a really attractive website. Currently Facebook attracts more than 500 million users around the world and that number would have tripled if the website was not banned in countries like China and Pakistan. The number advantage not only makes this website a favorable social network but also a commercial website because businesses can post ads, make pages for their businesses etc. Also non-profit organizations like Red Cross, Help Haiti etc can use it as tool to get their message across so people can donate money to them. This makes this website both visually and rhetorically attractive.

http://www.tvguide.com/ This website is probably the most boring website in the world-that is because it is confusing and unattractive. Its suppose to be a TV guide where people go and see what shows are playing but there are too many unnecessary things on the home page. This confuses the viewer and all you want to do is get out of there and look for an easy alternative. That makes it not attractive both visually and rhetorically.
