ME: Immediately after reading the essay, I looked up the advertisement. The visual aspect of the ad did pull me in as the author was talking about, and he did describe the image well. The essay was very well thought out and informative – but I think a since of passion and excitement was missing. I found it hard to keep concentrated on his ideas, and the style of writing he had didn’t necessarily make me want to keep reading it.
STEVE CARELL: First of all, I’m highly honored that there was this highly intellectual article about me being in an advertisement! I’m not a soccer player or Chinese, but they still wanted me in that ad! See what good looks and athletic skills can bring you?! Thanks to the people that can make anything happen on computers they even changed my facial features just enough so that I have more of a Chinese look to me! Man do I look good as an Asian!
MY MOM: I remember seeing that ad all over the place and thinking that it was a catchy one – but really? I don’t think anyone needed to spend that much time on writing an essaying analyzing it. Poor guy – life’s too short!
