Jeremy Camp: I like these Olympic games, even as a musician and composer. This advertisement from Adidas is a cool twist on the layout to show people to support their country (in this case, China) by buying their clothes. It makes me want to have one of those outfits from Adidas too. I sense a feeling of oppression, probably the communism of China, from this advertisement. The black and white background gives a heavy feeling to those who look at this ad. The people's only hope seems to be their excited expressions as they support their chief player.
My Dad: I'm not really a sports person, but I do find an interest in the Olympic games. It is a great thing to do on your free time. I also like to talk about it with my co-workers who also watch the Olympic games too. I think it is a great way to support your country but just watching them. This advertisement draws ones attention to the center where the player, who is wear a red Adidas outfit. The expressions on the people's faces are strange looking. I think the contrast between the black and white background and the red Adidas outfit on the player is too strong. It is too much of an extreme. I think the red Adidas outfit on the player would still stand out even with a paleness of color on the background. The layout of the advertisement is so strange that I cannot concentrate on the meaning.
