Me, LeBron James, My Grandma

Me: The red definitely caught my eye. I can see this advertisement using a rhetoric purpose in that it wants people to buy their adidas jerseys/products. I don't understand the background of the alignment of the picture, what it represents, and how it is trying to get people to support the China olympic team because it has a huge adidas logo right next to it. I think that when most people saw this sign they immediately connected it to the adidas company trying to attract potential buyers, not to persuade people to root for the China team.

LeBron: "Well since going down to Miami I don't really care about anyone else. I saw this logo and looked right passed it because I am a basketball player not a soccer player. My advertisements in China are much more important to me than any of these adidas soccer ones. I see no purpose in this AD then to get people to buy adidas gear. Also I am selfish and don't care about anyone else so what's China to me.

My Grandma: "When I saw this advertisement I immediately thought of the creators real purpose behind this. I came to the conclusion that this AD was to get the people of China to support their soccer team and its captain. Unconsciously the company wants people to buy their product but the real purpose is to get the people of China to care about their soccer team. I follow these advertisements in my hometown of Indianapolis and therefore i have become a big Colts fan."
