Journal 1

I consider myself a writer. Its impossible to dispute this because I'm writing right now. I enjoy writing in general. However, I don't like writing 5 paragraph essays and book reports. I feel this type of writing is pointless. I use writing everyday for simple, sometimes mindless, communication. Whether its e-mail, homework, or sending a simple text message, I use many different forms of writing without even thinking. I consider myself a good writer as well. I'm very good at taking a concept and putting it into my own words so others can understand it. This is why my teacher in high school often asked me to explain math concepts to the class that he couldn't describe very well. I expect this class to be very fun and my writing skill are well suited to the type of writing we will be doing. I can't wait for a great semester!

  1. I cannot figure out how to post a blog so i will both comment and blog.
I am a writer. Writing is a vital tool i use daily. A majority of my writing is due to taking notes in class. The other form of writing i use daily would be text messaging. Although my class notes are far from formal my texts tend to consist of proper grammar and spelling. The reason for this is i would like to get into the habit of writing formally for i know it will be such a key tool all through life. The times i enjoyed writing the most was my first semester of my senior year. I was in an "advanced" composition class in which we were required to write a paper a week. The first three were brutal and i began to doubt myself. This all changed when we were allowed to explore our topics to a great extent. Once i had a passion behind my writing my ideas would flow out for my rough draft. The rough draft allowed me to cut a majority out and refine each sentence. Each paper became a challenge and t gave me one more reason to love fridays, to turn in my pride and joy of the week. I hope to become a better writer.
