I think Koehler's argument is very effective! it is a fun topic and i love the way she presents it in a humorous way. Remediating the famous Hamlet quote into textspeak was a good way to get her initial point across. I completely agree with her point that the use of textspeak in text messages is starting to hurt the language. People are getting so used to talking like that in text messages that sometimes when they're writing a formal paper, they forget to use proper grammar and sometimes even words. Very few "words" in textspeak are actual word. believe it or not, IDK is not a word. It bugs me when people say this in a CONVERSATION with me. In conclusion, Koehler is very effective in her argument and provides clear examples and logical reasons for her claims.
