As I read the writer’s memo and the first few paragraphs of ‘OMG Shut Up’ I was really interested in seeing what she had to say because I felt that it had potential to be a really intriguing argument. Unfortunately, I felt that the paper didn’t live up to what it could have been. She did use a good amount of logos, and did refer to an outside source, but for a research paper you would think that there would be much more information pulled from outside sources to contribute to the ethos of the argument. I feel that she began to come up with an insightful argument when she talked about how because we didn’t grow up from the very beginning texting that it probably hasn’t affected us as much as it will in future generations, but ended her argument shortly after. I think that the paper had a great topic but not enough of logos, ethos, pathos or an insightful argument to give it the argument that it could potentially have.
